ABOUT THE PITTSBURGH AREA CHAPTER OF THE ACI

The theme of The American Concrete Institute (ACI) International, “Progress through Knowledge” has inspired the members of the Pittsburgh Area Chapter to work toward a more informed industry for over 50 years. The Chapter was founded in 1962 by a group of dedicated people led by Art Livingood, Andy Fertal, and Bob Zerns. Their vision has helped influence the shape of concrete construction in Pittsburgh as well as the tri-state area.

Today our chapter has over 200 members. We hold monthly member meetings in October-March and every April we hold our annual Awards Banquet. We offer ACI Certification and conduct several classes and test hundreds of individuals each year. For more information on these programs, please look under the “Certifications” tab. The Pittsburgh Area Chapter continues to grow and we would like to thank those who have supported us. We extend a special thanks to our sustaining and corporate member companies who have made it possible to achieve this success.

Education and Training

We offer numerous ACI Certification courses throughout the year so you can keep current on an existing certification or earn a new one.

The Chapter Library contains copies of many ACI publications which are updated on a regular basis. Visitors may research information at the Library and some publications can be signed out.

The concrete supplier was member producer Bryan Materials Group. Members of the design and contractor community included Barton Malow and JV partner Mascaro Construction Company, LP, who provided construction management services and self-performing concrete for the project, and the architectural team of HOK. #BuildingMomentum #BuildingandConnectingCommunities ...
